Valda Hampton was born October 2, 1964, in Grady, Arkansas to Mae White and Willie Orlandis Jordan. Early in Valda’s life, her family moved to Little Rock, where she attended the public schools of Little Rock, graduating from Parkview High School in 1983. Valda was very active in sports and won many tournaments in softball track and field. Valda loved family and she also loved working with children, as she began her life’s vocation of working as a Para Educator for 33 years in the Little Rock School District, before retiring. Valda worked with children who needed her special care and love, some of them she kept in touch with, even after she retired in 2020.Valda Hampton was kind-hearted and soft spoken but was a woman of strong conviction in the faith. As a hobby, she loved cooking, her motto was “Good food is not cheap, and cheap food is not good”. Valda was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, during her spiritual journey in the truth of holiness, under the leadership of the late Bishop Leodies Warren, and continued her membership under the leadership of Elder Jerry Warren, faithful until her passing. During this journey, Valda was a choir member, served as Young People’s President, Single Ministry’s President, and a member of the Beautification Committee. In April 2020, Valda was diagnosed with cancer, but that did not stop her zeal for serving the Lord. Later that year, she went in remission and travelled with her sisters Beverly, Laverne and Jacqueline to places she had only dreamed of as a child. She fulfilled her life-long dream was to travel internationally, traveling to Paris, France in 2023.
