Sharon Denise Mackintrush-Barnes was born on October 1, 1961, to Myrtle Patterson Mackintrush and Jacob W. Mackintrush, Sr., in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attended College Station Elementary, Cloverdale Middle School, John L. McClellan Senior High School, Little Rock Adult Education Program, Shorter College – North Little Rock, and University of Arkansas Pulaski Tech – North Little Rock majoring in Business. Sharon was united in holy matrimony to the late Elmer Madison, and later married Kenneth Barnes.
Sharon accepted Christ at an early age at an early age at her home church, Pilgrim Rest #4 Baptist Church of College Station, under the leadership of Pastor S. V. Summons. Later she became a faithful member of Moody Chapel A.M.E. Church under Pastor H.D. Stewart and Pastor Michael Scroggin, where she sung in the choir and served on the kitchen committee. Whenever she got a chance, she loved to fish. Sharon loved to help people by giving and cooking for them, especially at Cumberland Towers, where she was living until she heard a heard voice call out to her; she answered and received her wings.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Myrtle Mackintrush, and two brothers, Jacob W. Mackintrush, Jr. and Charles E. Mackintrush.
She leaves to cherish her memories five sisters, Barbara Bowie, Marlyn Farr (Roy), Sandra Peer of Houston, Texas, Mary Harris (Larry), and Ruthie Mackintrush; two brothers, Walter Mackintrush, Sr. and Johnnie Mackintrush, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends, and a special dog “Little Boy” that she loved dearly.
