Ramon Leslie Hunter was born to the late Joseph Hartwell Hunter and Dovie Estoria Hunter on July 17, 1935, in Forsyth, Georgia. Ramon is preceded in death by his sisters: Annette Davis and Carolyn Hunter.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of St. Luke A.M.E Church on July 18th 1964, Ramon united in holy matrimony to his love and partner for life Lois Jean McKinney Hunter and to this union 2 children were born.
Ramon graduated from Hubbard High School and soon after became a skilled craftsman. He worked 35 years at the Clinton National Airport until retirement. He enjoyed various sports activities, and you could join him anytime to watch his favorite teams compete on TV. He was very friendly and outgoing and inviting to all who knew him. He was a man’s man. Men gravitated to him because he became that voice of wisdom and reason in dealing with life issues. He loved all who came in contact with him especially his wife, children and grandchildren.
Ramon departed this life on February 23, 2024.He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted and loving wife: Lois Jean Hunter; his children Roderick Hunter of North Little Rock, Keith (Regina) Hunter of Little Rock, and special daughter-in-law Karyn Hunter. His loving sister: Irma Hunter Brown of Little Rock, his grandchildren: Andrea Hunter-Chase of Atlanta, Georgia and Roderick “RJ” Hunter of Durham, North Carolina, a great-grandson Jayden Hunter, step-grandchildren: Erin and Lauren Foley, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, 2:00pm at Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 5300 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
