Lucille Sallie Noble was born on July 3, 1922, in Nydia, Arkansas, to the late Issac R. Wilson and Sallie Dumas Wilson. She was the 11th of 12 children and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
At a young age, Lucille accepted Christ under the guidance of Pastor Blather in Nydia, AR. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. Eventually, she returned to Little Rock, Arkansas, where she became an active member of Labannah Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, she faithfully served the church as a choir member and as a revered Mother of the Church.
On December 5, God called Lucille home to join Him in His heavenly kingdom.
Affectionately known as "Aunt Lou" by her nieces and nephews, Lucille was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie “Buck” Noble, Sr., and her son, Artis Lee Jackson.
Lucille leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories for her family, friends, and the congregation of Labannah Missionary Baptist Church. She lived an extraordinary 102 years, spreading kindness and joy to all who knew her. In her own words to her great-niece Paula Brown, she said, “Don’t cry for me.” As we honor and remember Lucille, let us celebrate her life, reflect on the good times, and smile.
