L.H. "Pa" Johnson

January 11, 1937 — April 24, 2024

L.H. began his life journey on January 11, 1937, in Vaden, Arkansas the second son of Edward Johnson, Sr., and Annie Belle Pigg- Johnson. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Church of the Living God Pillar of Ground and Truth, in Vaden, Arkansas where he served faithfully until his health failed.


He attended Bell High School in Gurdon, Arkansas and begin his working career as a young man. He worked at the International Paper Company in Gurdon, AR for ten years. L.H. worked as a logger for several years and later became an independent logging contractor until he retired. He was an avid fisherman and hunter; he loved all parts of outdoor life. He was also a member of the NAACP.

 

Lee Henry Married the love of his life, Christana Graham on July 23, 1960, and to this union four wonderful children were born. L.H. taught his children life skills and how to fish and hunt. His favorite thing to do was to have family gatherings and spend time with his grandchildren. He loved to play cards, tell jokes, and laugh. He was a devoted husband for sixty-three years.

 

He was preceded in death by his Father Edward Johnson Sr., mother Annie Belle-Pigg Johnson, brothers Ozzie Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, Billy Wayne Johnson, Holman Johnson, Lee Johnson, and sister Betty Matlock. He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters Vicky Kelley of Hot Springs, AR; Valerie Cloird (Bruce) of Little Rock, AR; Tressie Junior (Stevie) of Mabelvale, AR; one son Wayne H. Johnson of Sparkman, AR. A foster daughter Sonya Green of Columbus, MO., two foster sons Aaron and Cody Thomas of Pine Bluff, AR. Seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Brothers Edward Johnson of Sparkman, AR and James Johnson (Louise) of Fort Wayne, IN, Sister Bobby Jean Cole of Queens, New York, Sister-in-law Linda Johnson of Arkadelphia, AR. A special cousin and friend, Edward Hensley (Buck) and Rickey Craig. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.


Funeral services in his honor will be held Saturday May 4, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at First Missionary Baptist Church, 225 East Ethel Street in Sparkman, Arkansas. The family will receive friends from 7:15 P.M. until 8:15 P.M. on Friday May 3, 2024, in the Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.
