Lawrence E. Pettus, II
Lawrence Edward Pettus, II., affectionately known as “Lil Lawrence” "LP" "Lauence" was born to Lawrence E. Pettus Sr. and Kim King-Pettus on May 20, 1992, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Lawrence attended Parkview High School, in Little Rock, Arkansas
He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church, North Little Rock on June 10, 2000, under the leadership of Pastor William L. Robinson where he was called to the Ministry.
In his pursuit of Love and Joy, he found out that “God’s Love” for him covered his life from birth to death. Lawrence was extremely talented and through the Holy Spirit, his gift made room for him, it allowed him to reach people of every class. His vibrant personality and smile made him so easy to love.
Outside of family and church, Lawrence was an entrepreneur who owned a mobile automobile cosmetic business where he encountered all genres of people.His charismatic Spirit had the propensity to envelop even a stranger. His favorite pastime was being a clown, especially if you were a sports enthusiast as he was with his favorite team the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, Lawrence’s true passion was singing. He was an excellent psalmist who blessed everyone with his anointed voice. He was afforded an opportunity to sing on recordings such as "Suited N Booted" “Return of the Kings, and "Cold World.” His songs will forever play in our hearts and comfort us with sweet memories.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Houston King, Jr., his paternal grandparents James and Nannie Pettus; his uncles Kevin King, James Pettus, Sr., Roosevelt Pettus, and Troy Pettus; his aunts Janice Lee Murphy, Almeter Wayne, Evonne Pettus, Algray Pettus.
Lawrence leaves to cherish his memory forever and keep his spirit alive, his loving mother and father Kim King-Macon (Marvin Macon) and Lawrence Pettus, Sr.; his three sons: Landon Edward Pettus, Layton Edward Pettus, and Malachia Jamarion Shelton all of Little Rock, AR; his daughter Kyndall Jamaria Pettus; his siblings; Antwoin King;(AR), Daniele Rideout, and Cody Rideout; his adoring grandmother; Carolyn King; uncles; Keith King, Kenneth King, and Kenneth Pettus, his aunts; Katrina King (TX), Kyra King, Verneal Booth, Rosie Green, Doris Kelley, Ira Lewis, Shirley Williams, and Joann Pettus; his fiance; Angel Johnson, and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, 11:00am.The family will receive friends Friday, July 28, 2023 from 6-7pm both held at First Baptist Church, 811 S.A. Jones Drive, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.
