Hattie Bell Fennessee (Freeman) was born on November 18, 1929. She was one of five children born to parents Benny and Johnnie Freeman, all of whom have proceeded her in death. Hattie united in holy matrimony to the late Cornelius Fennessee on October 13, 1949. To this union eight children were born.
Hattie accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member and worshiper at St. Luke Baptist Church for many years before becoming a member of Agape Community Temple of Servant (ACTS) with her family. Hattie was affectionately known to many as Mother Fennessee.
Mother Fennessee dedicated 30 plus years of service to the education of preschoolers with the Head Start Program. While working at Head Start, she attended classes part-time in the evening at UCA and earned her associate degree.
She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the peace and calmness that fishing brought her. She spent many hours fishing with friends and family.
Mother Fennessee peacefully transitioned to eternal rest on Friday, February 2, 2024, at home surrounded by love. “Forever safe in the arms of Jesus”
In addition to her parent, siblings and husband, Mother Fennessee was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Crudup and grandson, David Fennessee Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her seven children Linda Diane Yarbrough, David Fennessee (Joyce), Patricia Bassett (Daryl), Debra Fennessee, Cornelius Fennessee Jr., Raymond Fennessee (Tanya), and Timothy Fennessee, (Marinda). Her 12 grandchildren, Twenty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren as well as a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, 11:00am at A.C.T.S. Church, 1224 Franklin Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. A visitation will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5-7pm with the family receiving friends from 6-7pm at Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 5300 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
