Georgia Westbrooks was known to many as Sister Westbrooks, but most people knew her and referred to her as “Lene”. Lene loved the Lord and spent most of her time serving as an usher, prayer warrior, choir member, and devoted member at Deliverance Temple C.O.G.I.C. and later at The Lord is my Shepherd Church. Lene didn’t have kids of her own and so she was a haven for many of her nieces and nephews. She had a benevolent infectious smile that made everybody feel loved and uplifted.
Lene was not one to sit “idle” unless she was napping. Otherwise, she was attending church, busy figuring out ways to make extra money, or visiting with family and friends. Lene was an entrepreneur and spent most of her Saturdays selling or buying items in the local neighborhoods. Lene received her education from Scipio Jones High School in North Little Rock and spent most of her career as a dedicated cook at Fisher’s Steakhouse in North Little Rock.
Lene enjoyed getting out of the house. If there was a car moving, she wanted to be in it or she would easily strike out walking to get to where she wanted to go until her feet would no longer go the distance. Lene enjoyed life and she loved people. Lene transitioned from earth to heaven on Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was ready! Lene was a giving aunt and sister and so filled with love and she will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Ameila Bonds and Brenda Bonds-Bryles both of Little Rock, AR. a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents: Lucinda Carter-Bonds and O.D. Bonds, five sisters – Callie Alexander, Willie Mae Carroll, Betty Bonds, Oceanlene Bonds, and Ernestine Roberts and one brother, Jimmy Carroll, Jr.
