Frederick D. Gilbert “Friendly”, entered his eternal resting place on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 61, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born on October 10, 1962, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Clark Fate Gilbert and Magnolia Smith Gilbert, he was one of the four boys produced by this union.
Frederick dedicated 30 years of his life working at Evans Motors, and for the last three years, he worked with the Veteran Health Care System (VA Hospital). His work ethic spoke for itself. Also known as “Friendly”, Frederick was known for his love, smile, funny jokes, and joyful spirit, which always brought joy and laughter to those around him.
He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was re-baptized as an adult.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Clark Fate Gilbert and Magnolia Smith Gilbert, his one and only granddaughter, Dreya Peoples, and 21 aunts and uncles.
Frederick leaves a legacy of love through his wife, Brigitte Jackson Gilbert; stepdaughter, Arreya Boyd; stepson, Milton Boyd, Jr.; grand-dog, Lola, whom he cherished so dearly; siblings, Damon Gilbert of Lawrence, Kansas, Howard (Linda) Gilbert and Daryl (Catina) Gilbert, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Ann James (Samuel) of Sherwood, Arkansas, and Yolanda Lewis of Little Rock, Arkansas; special niece, Sarah Gilbert of Houston, Texas; special aunts, Jewel Mack and Deloris Dockery of Chicago, Illinois, and Alicia Lewis-Boyle (Aunt LeLe) of Little Rock, Arkansas; special friends, Kaye (Stella) Miller and family, Benjamin (Bodie) Davis, and Al (Toni) Hatton all of Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as a close-knit family full of cousins and friends who will cherish his memory forever.
