Ernest Paxton, Jr. born October 17, 1951 at 8:19 A.M. in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Ernest Paxton, Sr. and Beatrice Smith-Paxton.
Ernest Jr. departed this life on June 16, 2023.
Ernest Jr. was baptized at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the then leadership of the late Rev. J. L. Nichols.
Ernest Jr. was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Helen Irene Turner.
Ernest Jr. worked for many, many years at the Bicycle Factory and at Sears Warehouse.
Ernest Jr. graduated from Horace Mann High School, Class of 1971, were he played football (under the late Coach Oliver Elders), he ran track and sang in the school choir.
Ernest Jr. leaves to cherish his loving memories to one son, Corey Paxton, one daughter, Felicia (Richard) Newman, one grandson, Marquez Paxton and one great- grandson, Marquez Paxton , Jr, six sisters, Lynda Larff, DeWanda (Leo) Williams, Sharron Kelly, Joyce Clay and Pamela Moore, all of Little Rock, Arkansas and Valerie (Jeffrey) Hawkins of Memphis, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial celebration will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00am at Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 5300 West 12th Street.
