Delfred Nolan McLennan, Jr., born on May 4, 1982, to Connie Cooley and James Thompson, passed away on September 30, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and faith. He was a devout member of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC). He was a proud graduate of McClellan High School.
On April 22, 2023, Delfred married the love of his life, Milissa Anne McLennan, in a ceremony that marked the beginning of a beautiful chapter together. Their union was filled with deep affection, respect, and a shared commitment to each other. Milissa was his constant partner, bringing joy and strength into his life.
Family meant everything to Delfred, and his siblings held a special place in his heart. He leaves to cherish his life with, beloved wife, Milissa Anne McLennan and children. Delfred was a proud father to the following: Oriaha Cole, Tranise McLennan, Jabari McLennan, Azara & Malachi McLennan, LaMerian Cason, Malaki & Makira Miles, and one grandson: Brayden Boatwright.
He is survived by his two devoted sisters, Safari (Patrick) Ford and Mikia Britton (Derek), and is reunited in heaven with his beloved late sister, Kiwanna Thompson. Delfred also shared a close bond with his eight brothers: Damion (Shernell) Jones, Jilil Thompson, Tonda Baker, Jr., James Thompson, Jr., Antwan Thompson, Keenan Thompson, Adrian Thompson, and Wanamous Thompson. His love for family extended far beyond immediate relations, as he was known for his warm, welcoming spirit and generous heart.
Delfred McLennan was an engineer for the Windham Hotel for several years, a manager for Best Western Hotel in Jacksonville, AR, he was an engineer for the Capitol Hotel for six years. He loved his
wife, mother, and all of his children dearly. Mr. McLennan leaves to cherish his memories with a host of aunts, cousins, uncles, and friends.
In his free time, Delfred found peace and fulfillment in working outdoors. He had a passion for landscaping and yard work, and his dedication to creating beautiful, serene spaces was an expression of the care he put into everything he did. Whether mowing lawns, trimming trees, or designing gardens, Delfred’s hands transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Above all, Delfred's greatest joy in life was his family. He was very family oriented. His home was filled with laughter, love, and the warmth of his presence. He was a protective and loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, and a devoted brother and friend. Mr. McLennan leaves to cherish his memories with a host of aunts, cousins, uncles, and friends.
Delfred will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and the love he shared with his family will live on forever in their hearts. His legacy of love, will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
