Prophetess Debra Jean Roberts was born on August 23,1961 to Clarence and Geraldine Johnson. She was revered as a pillar of strength, courage, and love until February 9, 2025.
Debra was a true woman of God and faith. She received Christ in 1990 under the great leadership of the late Superintendent J.D. Porter at Greater Beulahland Church of God in Christ in Memphis, Tennessee. Alongside her faithful and loving husband, Phillip Roberts Sr., of 42 years the two embarked on a journey of changing the world one life at a time. Together they created a family of three sons and one daughter. She also helped establish Walk of Faith Outreach Ministries and Winners Obtaining Favor Overcoming Milestones (WOFOM).
Debra’s legacy is one of unyielding love and generosity. Her compassion for others had no ending. Even when sick or in pain, she never faltered on carrying for her loved ones and others. She lived life to the fullest regardless of life's challenges. Anyone who crossed her path would experience an undeniable impact that lead to better life.
Her life served as a true testament of servitude, discipleship, and sacrifice. She thrived on reaching the lost at any cost. Her heart was always set on serving those in need from troubled children, to the less fortunate and homeless; and even to those who were spiritually broken. Debra’s words of love and kindness would lift anyone out of despair. Even when she didn't have, she would find ways to get what others needed. Her arms where always open to show love, her home to those without shelter, and her shoulders for those who needed someone to lean on.
To see others smile was her heart’s desire. She loved traveling, sewing, spending time with loved ones, and watching a good action movie in foreign languages. It brought her even more joy to cook and go out to serve the homeless. She was more than a wife and mother; but a genuine friend, intercessor, prayer warrior, mother figure, motivator, corrector, and the list can go on and on. Full of life and energy, a fire ball of love and joy, she was so much to many people.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Crayton; father, Clarence Johnson; sister, Florine Yates; brothers, Fauroke Olajuwon and Wilson Polk.
She leaves behind cherished, unforgettable memories of her; her sweetheart of 42 years, Phillip Roberts Sr.; 3 sons, Gregory Johnson (Lashonda), Phillip Roberts Jr., and Elijah Roberts; 1 daughter, Annie Roberts; 5 grandsons, Gregory and Aiden Johnson, Jaylon and Joel Gary, and Hendrix Roberts; 4 granddaughters, Angela Roberts, Kylie and Madalyn Walker, and Journi Gary; 3 sisters, Norma Miller (Chris) (Terrance and Penny Townsend), Clara Johnson, Caroline Sanders (Arthur); 3 brother, Thomas Morrison, Carl Johnson (Tabatha), Craig Johnson (Vieronia); and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, prayer warriors, spiritual children, and friends.
