Deacon Albert Summons was born in Allport, Arkansas to the late William and Coreen Summons on May 8, 1943.
Albert professed his life to Christ at an early age. He served as a Deacon for many years. He enjoyed Sunday school, church, and his family. Albert was always kind and his smile would light up any room.
He graduated from Gartrell High School, in England, Arkansas. He then furthered his education at Arkansas Baptist College. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1969. He served in the Vietnam War. After an honorable discharge, he was employed at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in which he retired.
Albert Summons departed this life on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans’ Hospital Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Carolyn Jean Summons; his parents, William and Coreen Summons; three brothers, Eugene Summons, Reverend Sylvester Summons, and Reverend Lloyd Summons; four sisters, Florence Jenkins, Eloise Summons, Eddie Mae Mahone, and Dorothy McCoy.
He leaves to cherish his memories three children; Dorie Tamekia Summons, Ramon Terres Summons, and Cameron (LaQuestia) Summons; six grandchildren; Bralen Summons, Brendan Summons, Chasiti Summons, Xavier Summons, Amauri Dawkins, and Alyssa Mitchell; one great-grandchild; Ka’liyah Busby; three sisters; Ester Lee Summons, Lucille James Jeffery (Lee), and Willie Mae Shorty; a special niece; Alexia Glover, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, 11:00am, Eastern Star 2701 E 2nd St, North Little Rock, Arkansas. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 1:00-7:00pm at Hardy Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 5300 West 12th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204.
