“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” - John 3:16
Craig MacArthur Sailor was born on December 28th, 1960, to parents Joe Lee Kearn and Thelma Sailor Allen in Tallahassee, Florida. Craig was the oldest of his siblings: Dexter Allen Jr, Bryce Lee Allen Jr, and Robin Allen.
Craig was raised in Quincy, Florida by grandparents, Reverend Arthur Lee Sailor and Sister Annie Pearl Sailor, along with his sisters/aunts: Mary Ann Sailor-Conway, Martha Ann Sailor-Milton, Mitty Sailor-Coleman and Gladys Sailor-Cruz, and cousin, Dianne Cassandra Sailor-Harrell, as well as a few other relatives.
In 1979, Craig served his country and enlisted with the Navy Reserves, where he received an honorable discharge and was proud to have served his country. Craig had a huge passion for music. He began to show an interest in musical instruments at a young age, which caused him to later attend James Shanks High School, where he played the bass guitar, 4 string, and the trombone. It was also during that time that he learned to play & read bass guitar sheet music. He had plans of going to California to pursue music, but after the sudden death of his grandmother in 1982, he decided to live with his mother and his siblings in Arkansas.
It was around 1985 that Craig worked at Regal Ware in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where he met and married the former Martha Little. To this union two children were born, Monica & Travis Sailor. Craig had a genuine love for Christ, growing up in church at an early age, with a grandfather who was a pastor. During his time with Martha, he developed a deeper love for God and regularly studied the Bible and attended worship services and was even baptized.
He later obtained his CDL and began driving trucks, enjoying his time on the road traveling to many states as a professional driver, and working for Schneider trucking, as well as other companies. In 2023, Craig started working for Custom Craft Poultry, where he was a diligent worker who never complained about his work. Everyone who encountered Craig knew him to be very energetic, kind, and humble, who possessed the peace to get along with everyone.
Craig was a wonderful man and father to his children, raising his own two children and his grandchildren, helping his daughter Monica while she attended school pursuing a medical degree. It is no surprise that his son, Travis, followed in his footsteps becoming a CDL driver and writing and producing music, releasing albums beginning in 2020. He developed a love for computer games and video games from his mother, Thelma, and would even play the games with his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, especially his grandson, Marquis, who he was helping through school. As a “professional driver”, he enjoyed teaching his children and some of his grandchildren how to drive.
He also enjoyed the music of the Isley Brothers, Chic, and Earth, Wind, & Fire, just to name a few. He enjoyed cooking; some of his favorite dishes to cook were fried chicken and fried fish. He also enjoyed sports, especially basketball and football; it was hard to catch him watching anything else. Although he was very quiet and reserved, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Thelma Sailor, two children, Monica Sailor and Travis Sailor, siblings, Robin Allen, June Allen, and Dexter Allen, grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
