Charles Arnold Johnson Sr., born February 7, 1958, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on 12/21/24, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to his family. He was 66 years old.
Charles confessed his life in Christ at an early age at St. Stephens Baptist Church Dixie addition.
Charles graduated with his GED from job corps and learned a trade in culinary. He worked several jobs cooking and perfecting this trade. The main ones were St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Kettle and Finaly IHOP. Working alongside his uncle.
He is preceded in death by his father Tracy Johnson Sr., mother Cora Lee Johnson, two grandfathers, Stacy Johnson and Curtis Adams Sr, two grandmothers Aquila Johnson and Georgia Green Poe; two brothers; Tracy Johnson Jr., Ray Anthony Johnson; Two sisters Brenda Rawls, Reta Denise Johnson; and one nephew Steven Rawls.
Charles was a loving husband to Barbara Ann Johnson, a proud father to Charice Riggins (Sean Riggins), Charles Johnson Jr., and Kenneth Johnson, and a doting grandfather to Keyaira Riggins, Christian Riggins, Kymia Riggins, and Kaycen Armstrong-Johnson. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished each moment spent with them.
In addition to his immediate family, Charles leaves behind a close-knit community of friends and extended family. Brother Kenneth Johnson (Sophia); Sisters Janice Miller, Martha (Edmund) Chase, all of Little Rock, and Madolyn (McTavish) Rivers of Fort Walton Beach Florida. A Host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and friends. We can’t forget Besty because as Fur baby she loved him, and he loved her. The family would like to recognize the impact of Three of his friends in his life Casey Johnson Sr., Phillip Brewster (Nut) and Michael Hammond on the impact they had on his time here on earth. We will miss his infectious laughter, caring nature, and selfless spirit. He was a man who believed in the importance of family and community, and he made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Charles’s memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched.
Though he is no longer with us, Charles’s love and influence will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him. He will forever be remembered, and his spirit will remain in our hearts.
Charles’s favorite saying when everyone was together and enjoying themselves will live on. Today was a Good Day! So please remember that when you remember him. No sadness just peace. Today was a Good Day!
