It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Charles Bernard Higgins, Sr., known to friends and family simply as “Crunch”. He brought laughter and a spirit of adventure to the world during his 45 years. Born on October 17, 1979, in Little Rock, AR, Charles lived a life that could easily have been the script of a heartwarming comedy, filled with laughter, and selflessness. Charles took his last bow on January 11, 2025, in his hometown of Little Rock, after a brave battle with illness.
Charles grew up in the Granite Mountain Community, where he formed many friendships that would last a lifetime. He worked at New Age Distributing, where he was known for his dedication and hard work. Outside of his career, he was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman, often spending his time hunting and fishing, relishing in the peace and excitement that nature provided. One of his greatest joys was barbecuing, and he often shared his love for cooking with family and friends, creating lasting memories around the grill. In his spare time, Charles could often be found outside, tinkering with his Crown Vic, a pastime that was as much a part of him as his quick wit and generous heart.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Eddie Higgins, Sr., his mother Pearlie Bailey, and his brothers, Edward Higgins, Edmar Higgins, and Robert Shelton. He is survived by his children, Charles Higgins Jr. and Mayavi Pearl Higgins; his siblings: Larita Williams, Gary Higgins Sr. (Deloris), Ray Higgins, Lisa Kirk (Jesse), Eddie Higgins Jr. (Sonya), Brenda Jackson, Terry Higgins (Melissa), Sharon Shelton, and Latisha Higgins.
Charles will be deeply missed by his children, family, and all those whose lives he touched. As we bid farewell to Charles Bernard Higgins, Sr., let's not say goodbye but rather, "See you later," for the memories you left us with.
